About the Competition
The D&H Secheron Electrodes Young Engineers Competition 2024 is an opportunity for young engineers to showcase their expertise and creative thinking in welding technology, metallurgy, QA/QC, surface protection, corrosion control, and related fields.
This competition provides a platform for young engineers to gain recognition and win cash prizes for their knowledge and skills.

Eligibility & Entry Fee
Eligibility:
* Age: Participants must be under 35 years old as of 01-06-2024.
* Teams: The competition is open to teams of THREE young engineers.
* Presentation: Two members of the team will present the paper orally, with the third member as a standby.
Entry Fee:
* Rs. 2000.00 + (GST@18%) per team
* Payment must be made along with the entry form and submitted by 18th November 2024.

Competition Details

Written Presentation:
* Weight: 45% of the total score.
* First Level Elimination: Teams will be shortlisted based on their written presentations.
* Content: The paper should be between 3,000 and 4,000 words, excluding exhibits, charts, and the summary.
* Research: The paper should be based on original research and analysis of data from both primary and secondary sources.
* Format: The paper should be in MS Word on A4 Size paper with double spacing, Arial font size 12, and printed on one side only.
* Synopsis: A synopsis of no more than 500 words must precede the main text.
* Table of Contents: The paper should include a table of contents outlining the various topics/headings.
* References: A list of references should be included at the end of the paper and referenced in the text using serial numbers.
* Submission: The soft copy of the paper should be emailed to parappilgk[AT]yahoo.com by the deadline.

Oral Presentation:
* Weight: 55% of the total score.
* Online Presentation: Selected teams will be invited to present their paper online using the provided link.
* Time: Teams must be online 10 minutes before their allotted presentation time.
* Cancellation: Teams that fail to report online before the scheduled time will be disqualified.

Written Presentation:
* Presentation & Format of Report: 30 points
* Originality & Creative Thinking: 30 points
* Accuracy of Content & Extend of Research: 30 points
Oral Presentation:
* Clarity & Substance of Presentation: 30 points
* Ability to Communicate with and Respond to Questions Effectively from the Panel of Judges: 30 points
* Team Work in Presentation: 30 points
* Contribution to Effective Technological Thinking & Performance: 20 points
Total: 200 points
