Eligibility: Any citizen of India can participate. There is no age restriction.
About the Competition:
The Dhai Akhar National Level Letter Writing Competition is an annual initiative by the Department of Posts to promote the art of letter writing and foster creativity, critical thinking, and empathy among participants.
Theme: The Joy of Writing : Importance of Letters in a Digital age
Categories:
* Up to 18 years:
* Inland Letter Card Category
* Envelope Category
* Above 18 years:
* Inland Letter Card Category
* Envelope Category
Guidelines:
* Word Limit:
* A4 size paper: Maximum 1000 words
* Inland Letter Card (ILC): Maximum 500 words
* Language: English, Hindi or any Vernacular
* Stationery: Embossed envelope/ envelope with stamp affixed for A4 size paper letter or Inland Letter Card (ILC).
* Letter must be handwritten. Typed letters will not be accepted.
* Participants must provide a certificate of their age on the letter.
Selection Procedure:
* Circle Level:
* The best 3 entries in each category are shortlisted by every Circle and awarded prizes at the Circle level.
* An Evaluation Committee, chaired by the Chief Postmaster General, will evaluate the entries.
* The committee will include an academician, scholar, or journalist.
* National Level:
* The top 3 entries from each category at the Circle level (12 total) are sent to the Directorate for final evaluation.
* A National Level Selection Committee will choose the top 3 entries in each category.
