About the Competition:

The D&H Secheron Electrodes Young Engineers Competition 2024 is an opportunity for young engineers to showcase their expertise and creativity in welding technology, metallurgy, QA/QC, surface protection, corrosion control, and related fields. This competition offers a platform for recognition and valuable rewards for exceptional talent.

Eligibility & Entry Fee:

* Age: Participants must be under 35 years old as of 01-06-2024.
* Teams: The competition is open to teams of three young engineers.
* Entry Fee: Rs. 2000.00 + (GST@18%) per team.
* Payment should be made along with the entry form by 18th November 2024.

Competition Structure:

The competition consists of two stages:

1. Written Presentation:
* Teams must submit a written paper on the competition theme, ranging between 3,000 to 4,000 words excluding exhibits, charts, and the summary.
* The paper should be based on original research and analysis, including the team’s own organization if applicable.
* Format: MS Word on A4 Size paper with double spacing, Arial font size 12, printed on one side only.
* The paper must include a synopsis (maximum 500 words), a table of contents, and a list of references.
* Submission: Soft copy to be mailed to parappilgk[AT]yahoo.com
* Evaluation: A panel of judges will evaluate the written submissions.
2. Online Presentation:
* Selected teams will be invited for an online presentation.
* Participants must use the provided online link and be present online 10 minutes before the allocated time.
* Teams failing to be online on time will be considered cancelled.
* Online Presentation Guidelines:
* Two members of the team will present. The third member will be on standby.
* Presentation should be clear and concise, effectively responding to questions from the judges.
* Teamwork and contribution to technological thinking and performance are assessed.

Written Presentation:

* Presentation & Format of Report: 30 points
* Originality & Creative Thinking: 30 points
* Accuracy of Content & Extend of Research: 30 points

Oral Presentation:

* Clarity & substance of presentation: 30 points
* Ability to communicate with and respond to questions effectively from the panel of judges: 30 points
* Teamwork in presentation: 30 points
* Contribution to effective technological thinking & performance: 20 points

Total Points: 200

* 1st Prize: Rs. 50,000/-
* 2nd Prize: Rs. 25,000/-
* 3rd Prize: Rs. 10,000/-
