What is the ICSSR National Argumentative Essay Writing Competition?
This competition aims to encourage research among young scholars by providing a platform to showcase their critical thinking and writing skills. Participants will engage with the topic of Simultaneous Elections in India: One Nation, One Election.

Categories of Essay Writing Competition
The competition is divided into three categories:
1. Undergraduate Student
2. Postgraduate Student
3. PhD Scholar

Eligibility & Entry Rules
* Full-Time Student: Participants must be full-time bona fide students at a recognized Indian university/institution on the day of submission.
* Recognized Institution: The institution must be an Institute of National Importance (as defined by the Ministry of Education) or a UGC Recognized Indian University/Deemed University/Institution/College.
* Language: Entries must be submitted in Hindi or English.
* Word Limit: Essays must be 1,500 words in length.
* Submission: Entries must be submitted via the online entry form only in PDF format.
* Formatting: Use MLA 9 formatting, standard margins, 12-point font, and double spacing.
* Originality: Submissions must be original work and should not have been published previously. Plagiarism and use of AI tools (like ChatGPT) will result in disqualification.
* One Entry per Participant: Only one entry per participant is allowed. Co-authored entries are not permitted.
* Deadline: The deadline for submission is 8th October 2024. No late entries will be accepted.
* Prize Queries: Queries regarding prizes will only be entertained after the final results are announced on the ICSSR website.
* Final Authority: The ICSSR has the final authority for interpreting the guidelines and resolving any issues.

Prize of Essay Writing Competition
Each category offers the following prizes:
* First Prize: Rs 15,000
* Second Prize: Rs 10,000
* Third Prize: Rs 7,500
The top 50 entries from each category will be compiled and published by the ICSSR in a book format.
